Welcome to my website

Howdy and thanks for dropping by.

I’ve been making kites since 1989, when I sat down at the used White sewing machine that my father had picked up at a garage sale to help him put some kites together. I have made hundreds of kites in the years between.

I enjoy sharing kites and kiting, having taught classes at events in Oregon and Washington, and discussing their historical and artistic aspects with attendees at events throughout the Northwest. I have also helped organize the Oregon Kitemakers Retreat since its inception.

I’m also the father of 3 great sons; Zach, Sam, and Luc. For their sakes, I’ll attempt to leave details out of my posts, but I’m certain some will slip in. (Sorry boys.)

Some of my posts are likely to include notes about Scouting events, as I’ve been an Adult Leader with BSA units since 2006.

Now, it’s time to get back to work on my latest kite.

Again, thanks for stopping by, come back soon to keep up with my kiting antics.
